As we continue to highlight the latest in sustainable and eco-friendly business practices, entrepreneurial activities, campaigns and community experiences, LoaTree is proud to host a Green Drinks benefit for one of Santa Barbara’s favorite holidays, the Santa Barbara Summer Solstice Celebration. This annual parade and festival attracts tens of thousands of participants from all over the south coast to celebrate the beginning of summer.
LoaTree invites you and the community at large to join us at a Solstice Celebration benefit on Wednesday, June 15th from 6-8PM at 631 Garden St. to meet Summer Solstice’s new executive director and find out about the newest and greenest solstice parade and festival experiences!
The evening will feature:
- A brief program by LoaTree who will introduce Summer Solstice’s Executive Director, Robin Elander and Development Director Robby Robbins
- Beverages by Rincon Brewery and Imlak’esh Organics (Solstice karma points to those who #BringYourOwnCup)
- Music by DJ Darla Bea
- Tours of Solstice headquarters to see this year’s floats, puppets and more.
A $10 donation is suggested at the door, with proceeds to benefit Summer Solstice.
New initiatives at this year’s Summer Solstice will include more local and sustainable festival food options, increased recycling and composting efforts, and more opportunities for community engagement. At Green Drinks, attendees will learn about these new features as well as the long history that Solstice has in using and re-using discarded material and waste products in its floats, puppets and other infrastructure.
“Any opportunity to build community and gather with friends in a positive environment is cause for celebration,” said Eric Cardenas, LoaTree’s COO. “The fact that the 2016 Summer Solstice team is increasing its efforts to green this annual event makes it that much more significant.”
RSVP at our Facebook event page and spread the word.
